Prolongation of residence for citizens of non-EEA, visa free countries to Hungary

If students of these countries are continuing their studies at CEU, they have two possibilities:
1. Let their residence permit expire and leave Hungary. When they return for the next academic year, they need to obtain a new residence permit (see section for new arrivals).
OR
2. Apply to extend the validity of their current residence permit 30 days before its expiration date. The cost related to the prolongation procedure is 10,000 HUF in duty stamps (as of May 20, 2011).
If you choose the prolongation option, here is a list of documents that you need to prepare in order to apply for extension of your residence permit. The Student Life Office is ready to check the collected forms. Please note: when applying for residence permit all required documents should be submitted to the Immigration Office at the same time.
