SRO Letter
Dear Prospective Student,
Congratulations on your acceptance to Central European University. We wish you successful studies at CEU.
Prior to your arrival to CEU, we would like to draw your attention to the following:
1. If during the time of application you were still enrolled in the last year of your university studies and were not able to include your degree diploma and your final transcript in the CEU application package, then to make your application complete you need to submit the following documents to the Admissions Office upon your arrival to CEU:
*Copy of the diploma bearing an ink stamp and signed by a public notary or an authorized university official;
*Official English language translation of the diploma bearing an ink stamp and signed by the translation company or an authorized university official;
*Official final transcript issued in the university's original language of instruction. It should also bear an ink stamp and be signed by the registrar;
*Official English language translation of the transcript bearing an ink stamp and signed by the translation company or an authorized university official.
Please bring your original diploma (master copy) with you as well as you might need it in Budapest for various reasons. However, you do not have to submit the diploma to the SRO.
Please note that until your pre-CEU educational record file is complete, your status will remain "Conditionally Accepted." Your acceptance and enrollment will become unconditional only after your records are complete.
2. If you intend to apply for further studies at other universities while studying at CEU, we recommend you to bring with you to Budapest as many copies of the above mentioned set of educational documents as you think you will need for your application purpose. Please remember that once you leave your home country for Budapest, it may be difficult to order your undergraduate records. At many universities the procedure of ordering transcripts may be time-consuming. Therefore, to be better prepared for another application campaign, we recommend you to make arrangements while you are still at home. Please note that documents that you submit to CEU are the property of CEU, they cannot be returned to the students and CEU does not provide the certification of those records either.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Student Records Office.
We look forward to meeting you in Budapest.
Sincerely,
Emese Boldizsar
Head of Student Records and Enrollment
