Academic/Professional experience, and Achievements: 

Borbala Varga works as a program coordinator at the center.  Before joining CPS in 2003, she worked in the CEU library as an assistant during her university studies. She has a background in computer science and originally she was hired as a part time database manager to create and maintain the center's new online policy paper collection, the Policy Documentation Center.

Since 2005 she has been involved in the center's everyday life, she started working as a full time assistant, later as a coordinator. She is responsible for various tasks, including preparing and monitoring budget plans and reports, preparing contracts, maintaining websites, organizing events and designing publication materials. She has overall responsibility for the creation and maintenance of the CPS online publications, such as the working paper series and policy research report series. She also participates in EU project management of two research projects, SOCCOH (The Challenge of Socio-economic Cohesion in the Enlarged European Union, 2006-2008) and QUING (Quality of Gender+ Equality Policies in Europe, 2006-2011). She was the coordinator of two advanced courses organized by the center, a master course ‘Climate Change: An Interdisciplinary Inquiry’ (2008) and a summer university course ‘Feminist Intersectionality and Political Discourse’ (2010). She is the webmistress of the general CPS website, and has been involved in the development and maintenance of the EDUMIGROM website, an EU project coordinated by the center.

She also works as a hotline counselor at the NaNE Women's Right Association, which is the only NGO running a hotline for battered women and children in Hungary.
