Diane Stone
Diane Stone was founding director of the CEU's Master's Program in Public Policy (MPP) in 2004 introducing 'global public policy' as a core theme. From 2004 to 2008, she held a European Commission Framework 6 Award and was Marie Curie Chair in the Center for Policy Studies. During this time, she designed the Mundus MAPP two-year degree around the idea of 'European engagements with transnational public policy' and built the Erasmus Mundus consortium with IBEI, ISS and York as its lead coordinator.
In 1999, while working in the World Bank Institute in Washington DC. she was a member of the Secretariat that launched the Global Development Network subsequently becoming a member of its Governing Body for three years. GDN is a research network that aims to inform international development policy.
She is a member of the Council of the Overseas Development Institute - a London based think tank. Professor Stone is a founding member of the Researchers Alliance for Development and from 2007 to 2009 Chair of RAD. From 2005-2008 she was co-editor of Global Governance: A Review of Multilateralism and International Institutions sponsored by the Academic Council of the United Nations System.
Since 2005 she has been lead convenor of the World Bank-RAD Post Doctoral Workshop on International Organisation which was launched at CEU.
Her permanent position is as Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick. From late 2010 she will take leave of absence in order to be Winthrop Professor (Political Science and International Relations) at the University of Western Australia for three years.
