Nadir Burnashev
Nadir Burnashev works as the Head of Credit and Investment Department at the new Eurasian Development Bank. This joint Russian-Kazakh multilateral development bank has charter capital of USD 1.5 billion and is headquartered in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Prior to the Eurasian Development Bank, Nadir Burnashev was working for Kazkommerts Securities, the largest private bank in Kazakhstan, first as Chief Economist and, then as the General Director. Later, in 2005, he moved on to become the General Director of Kazkommerts Securities, the oldest and one of the most recognized and experienced financial companies in Kazakhstan.
Nadir Burnashev graduated from the Economics Department of CEU in 1996. After CEU, he continued his studies at the School of Foreign Service of the Georgetown University in Washington. In 1998 -2001 he was the representative of Kazakhstan to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. He returned back to his home country to work at the National Bank, State Investment Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and various financial institutions.
