Friedrich Wilhelm Graf is currently professor of systematic theology and ethics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. He is the first theologian ever awarded with the Leibniz-Prize, Germany's most prestigious award for academic scholarship. Since 2001, he is an established member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. In 1994, Graf took up the presidency of the Ernst-Troeltsch-Society and is now working on a critical edition of Ernst Troeltsch's complete works.
