SECOND CALL for ERASMUS STAFF TRAINING GRANT applications

The LIFELONG  LEARNING PROGRAMME(LLP)/Erasmus mobility activities scheme is a Higher Education Program of the European Commission. This program has facilitated a period of study abroad for students as well as teaching exchange possibilities  in another European country.

In addition to grants for students and faculty, a new form of mobility, Erasmus Staff Training mobility is available for all Staff members employed by Central European University (CEU). The purpose of the staff mobility for the person participating is the professional development, training and sharing favourable practices with colleagues. The staff exchange from one university to another might be a study visit, vocational training period, a seminar relating to training, a course etc.

The duration of the staff exchange period must be five working days.
The period abroad should be accomplished latest by 30 September, 2010.

Eligibility:

* The sending department/services/office in most cases must have an Erasmus exchange agreement in force with the corresponding department/services/office at the  host university. In certain cases it may be enough that there is a departmental agreement  or an agreement  based on a subject area code between CEU  and the host university.
A suitable host institution for the Erasmus staff exchange is a university, a library, an enterprise or a private or public organisation, but not EU organisations, the organisations administering EU programmes or the diplomatic representations of the applicant's home country abroad. Attached you will find a list of those institutions with whom CEU has already signed agreements.
Bilateral agreements are not needed for the exchanges between the university and an enterprise since the exchange takes place on the university's invitation.
* The program is open to the participation of the "LLP" countries:
Member States of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom),
the 3 European Economic Area countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) and
the candidate countries (Turkey).
* The participating people must be nationals of one of the countries participating in LLP, or having an official status in Hungary (permanent residents, refugees, stateless persons).

The grant:

* The maximum grant amount expected from the European Union’s Erasmus funds is 800 €.
* The grant does not affect other financial support (except any other support from European Union).
* Based on the decision of the CEU Executive Committee, staff members will receive their salaries while on Erasmus visit
* The grant is intended as a contribution to travel and subsistence costs, and does not cover all the actual expenses incurred.
* Priority should be given to candidates who participate for the first time in the Erasmus programme at CEU.
