NEW CALLS for Transatlantic programmes
I. EU-US ATLANTIS Programme

Brief description: in the context of the EU-US co-operation in higher education and training a new call has been launched together with the US Department of Education, covering a series of actions - grouped under the common title of "ATLANTIS"
1. Transatlantic Degree Consortia Projects (TD): provides support for consortia of EU and U.S. higher education institutions to implement dual/double or joint degree programmes.
2. Excellence in Mobility Projects (EIM): provides funding for international curriculum development projects that involve short term transatlantic mobility.
3. Policy Oriented Measures (POM): provides support to multilateral EU-US projects and activities designed to enhance collaboration in the higher education and vocational training field.
Funding: For EU institutions, the budget available amounts to approximately EUR 5,5 million. For U.S. institutions comparable funding will be provided. The European Commission will provide funding for the direct use of the EU partners, and the U.S. Department of Education (FIPSE) will provide funding for the direct use of the United States partner(s)
II. EU-CANADA Transatlantic Exchange Partnerships (TEP) and Transatlantic Degree Partnerships (TDP) Programme

Application deadline: 24 March 2010
Brief description: in the context of the European Union - Canada Framework for Co-operation in Higher Education, Training and Youth (EU-Canada Programme) a new call for proposals has been launched to fund joint degree or study/training programmes allowing transatlantic exchanges between European and Canadian education institutions.The call is open to higher education institutions and vocational education and training institutions.
Funded activities such as development of curricula, exchanges of students with provision for credit recognition, exchanges of faculty, international internships, will benefit to higher education students, vocational education and training learners and teachers/trainers/administrative staff. The main focus of activities must be on transatlantic rather than intra-European or intra-Canadian interactions.
1. Transatlantic Exchange Partnerships (TEP) projects: support is provided to enable EU-Canada consortia of higher education institutions and training institutions, to carry out joint study and training programmes and to implement student and faculty mobility. Support includes support for administration, grants for students and members of the academic and administrative staff.
2. Transatlantic Degree Partnerships (TDP) projects: support is provided to develop and implement dual/double or joint degree programs. Support includes support for the development work and administration, grants for students and members of the academic and administrative staff.
Funding: The EU budget is estimated to be € 1.974.000. It is anticipated that approximately 3 Transatlantic Degree Partnership (TDP) projects and 5 Transatlantic Exchange Partnership (TEP) projects will be funded in 2010.
