PhD workshops on Academic Practice
A series of workshops focusing on academic practice that will take place in the Winter semester.
As you will notice the workshops will cover a wide range of issues, from teaching opportunities (and where to look for them), to publication strategies, from the search for grants during and after a PhD, to discussions concerning the job search and the hiring process. I hope you will find those helpful. The workshops will take place on Tuesdays, 5.20-7pm, starting from 2 February. The first 60 minutes of the workshop will explore the topics indicated below. The format consists of a discussion and Q&As (no lecture). It would immensely help the speakers if you could, in case you had specific queries, email them in advance to Kriszta, who would then channel them to them. The more academic side of the evening is followed by a more social one, with wine&snacks. You will be notified of the venue in the coming weeks. There will be 8 sessions overall.
An important organizational note: The attendance to this workshop is on a voluntary basis (and no credits are involved). We are trying to set the enrollment up on infosys, but in the meantime it would be helpful if you could email Kriszta (ds@ceu.hu) and let us know whether you intend to attend or not (either way we need to know - there are a few organizational aspects to be considered, and we do need to know if we should expect 10 participants or 70). I would be grateful if you could confirm by 27 January.
