The international civil society coalition The Public Voice will stage a conference on Global Privacy Standards for a Global World in Madrid today, which is supported by major NGOs, advocacy groups and academic institutions in the field of information privacy (Livewebcast here).
This seminar is the first in a Seminar Series on Global Europe. It will put CFSP in context. It will examine the EU's objectives for its CFSP, consider how it conducts and co-ordinates its activity, how the EU works together and how it relates to non-EU neighbours and key partners, such as Russia, Central Asia, Pakistan and NATO.
Uwe Puetter, Professor at the Department of Public Policy, published the book 'Die Wirtschafts- und Sozialpolitik der EU' (The economic and social policy of the EU) with Facultas WUV/ UTB.
Andreas Goldthau, Associate Professor at the Department of Public Policy and Jan Martin Witte, Associate Director of the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), Berlin published a book entitled “OPEC: Between Power and Impotence” (German title: “Die OPEC: Macht und Ohnmacht des Öl-Kartells”).
The Department welcomes Benjamin Cramer who has joined DPP as a Visiting Professor of Telecommunications and Public Policy. In the academic year 2009/2010, he will teach Fundamentals of Media and Telecommunications Policy and Global Broadcasting and Telecommunications Law.
