Learning Outcomes: 
Students should learn to grasp the texts and think critically about the issues dealt with therein and to have a general sense of the field.
Assessment : 
Student performance and achievement will be measured by means of a term paper (4000 words or two 2,000 world terms papers. Progress during the course will be monitored by means of response papers. Response papers are due by October 1, October 25, November 25, though welcome anytime earlier. More information will be given on the M.A. term papers and response papers in class.
