Student Life in the History Department

The best guide to student life in the History Department and at CEU is of course the students themselves, which is why they have assembled the materials seen here.  In addition to the photos you can see here, you can also read what some of our Alumni have to say about their experience.  You should also check the information on the CEU Student Life.

2-Year MA in Comparative History of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe

As of 2008, the two year MA degree in Historical Studies has been introduced at CEU as a joint initiative of the Department of Medieval Studies and the History Department. It consists of two tracks: Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies, and Comparative History of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. In November 2007, this new program became registered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York (US) for and on behalf of the New York State Education Department, and in July 2008 by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee.

Welcome to the Class of 2010

On this site you will find all that you need to begin to settle into the coming academic year.  Please take a look at the academic calendar  to familiarize yourself with the deadlines and holidays.  In choosing your courses you will need to calculate the course credits you select from both terms to meet the minimum credits for graduation.

Master of Arts Degree Programs

The History Department offers three Master’s programs. The first, a one-year Master of Arts degree in Central European History, is registered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York (US) for and on behalf of the New York State Education Department, and is also accredited as "further professional training" ("szakirányú továbbképzés") by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee.
