To help the Web Team process your requests most efficiently, there are two (2) primary ways feedback should be given. The method you should choose, depends on the nature of your feedback. Use the following text for guidance:
Method One: for General Feedback or Support Requests -- Use Email, or our Contact Form
If you have a general comment, or question about how the website looks or content is delivered, or how to undertake a certain action, for example:
- Why do our profile pictures look the way they do?
- How do i get a course to appear on our course list?
- Shouldn't paragraph X appear on this page, and paragraph Y should appear on another?
- I don't see an option to add information X on this piece of content, shouldn't we have this option?
- I have a bunch of material i need to add to the website, how and in what form, should I do it?, etc.
As a first step, consult the web team mini-site (www.ceu.hu/webteam) to see if there is a solution already found in the Handbook, or among our screencasts. If not, then you should contact us by email. Write to, ceuwebteam [at] gmail [dot] com (or, ceuwebteam [at] ceu [dot] hu) and your feedback will be dispatched, and responded to. Remember to use this team email address, as opposed to individual emails or phone calls to team members.
Be sure to include as much information as possible when you write, for example:
- any relevant page links
- what browser you are using
- screen shots
- whether you are checking the website while logged in, or out
Please note: writing or calling individual team members will NOT 'speed up' requests -- it will only add extra steps to the process. Only write to an individual team member after you have gotten a response from him/her.
Method Two: for Specific Page Feedback -- Use the Feedback Button
If you are browsing the website, and on a specific page, find a error or issue related to that page only, for example:
- The first link in the 2nd paragraph is wrong on this page
- There is a misspelled word on this page
- The image is broken on this page, etc.
In this case you should use the feedback button (looks like: [ + ] FEEDBACK) in the bottom right of the screen on any page. Remember that you need to be logged into the system to view the feedback button. A small box will pop up which you can write directly inside, and hit the send button. This will go to our processing page and include the link you sent it from. It is a quick and convenient solution for individual bug reporting.
We hope the above helps to clarify how to give feedback to the CEU Web Team. Happy browsing!
