Academic Facilities and Support
CEU’s educational site is located in one of the most beautiful parts of central Budapest. Seven elegant buildings, ranging from Baroque and Art Nouveau to the late twentieth century style offer a first-class learning environment.
Of particular note is the Monument Building, a former palace designed by one of Central Europe’s most famous architects, Mihaly Pollack in the 1830s. For the renovation of the building, CEU received the “Urban Rehabilitation of 1995” award from the Association of Hungarian Architects.
The modern 10-story Faculty Tower is home to many of CEU’s faculty offices and classrooms, the library and the university auditorium. In addition, the Art Nouveau home of the Open Society Archives at CEU is open to visitors throughout the day, and the CEU Business School is located in easy proximity across the Danube river in the historic I district next to the Buda Castle Hill.
CEU also provides a range of academic support services ranging from an award-winning Center for Academic Writing to modern IT support, training and infrastructure.
