Erasmus/Lifelong Learning Program (LLP)

What is Erasmus?

Erasmus ("European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students") is the European Commission's higher education program for students, teachers and administrative staff. The Erasmus program enables students to study for part of their degree in another country, encourages teacher mobility and promotes transnational cooperation projects among universities across Europe.

The European Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture has granted CEU the Extended Erasmus University Charter for the period 2007-2013 (HU BUDAPES47). See also CEU's Erasmus Policy Statement.

Erasmus is an integral part of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) from 2007 to 2013 replacing Socrates/Erasmus (2000-2006). Since 2005/2006, CEU has been active in the LLP Erasmus program with a steadily growing number of student and teacher exchanges.
